We want you to be comfortable with our quality and our style of editing before any money exchanges hands. That’s why we offer a free sample edit for book-length works over 20,000 words.* This gives you the opportunity to see the quality of our work and lets us see how we can best help you. The writer-editor relationship is crucial, and a sample edit allows you to “try out” the relationship—free. Giving us a test run is easy.
- Send your first ten pages plus another chapter (or more) of your choice to IFWeditors@gmail.com.
- Once we receive your work, we will assign the editor who best fits your writing style, genre and personality. And, yes, you may ask your editor questions and speak to a “real” person.
- We’ll read your material before we edit so we can understand your author’s voice and not trample over your style as we work.
- We’ll edit the first 500 words—enough for you to see what we do and how we do it. Work submitted for a sample edit must follow our submission guidelines. You’ll receive your sample back in a few days.
